Each blended Scotch contains malts and grain whiskey and it is skillfully blended by masters of the trade. Tasting each batch and fine balancing the quantities of the whiskey from different barrels is an art that produces fine high quality whiskey of widely respected taste and flavor traditional to a particular distillery and whiskey house. When the Vikings invaded Waterford they appreciated its strategic value as a major trading port for goods and merchandise, a role it continues to play to this day. A lot of goods both dry and wet were shipped by barrel and a healthy barrel making industry developed in the Waterford area.
